Hi, I'm Jon.
I'm the pilot, photographer, and creator behind I Know A Drone Guy.
What started with an interest in photography and a fascination with seeing the world from different perspectives grew into something much bigger: using drones to create imagery, document projects, support businesses, and show familiar places in completely different ways.
Sometimes you don't need another camera angle. You need a different perspective.
Why “I Know A Drone Guy?”
Because sometimes that's exactly what you need.
You have a property to showcase. A construction project to document. An event to capture. A business to promote. A destination to introduce. Or maybe an idea that starts with, “Could we get a drone up there?”

The Flight Is Only Part of the Job.
Flying the drone may be the most visible part of an operation, but it isn't where the work begins.
Every project starts with understanding what you're trying to accomplish. From there, we consider the location, operating environment, desired perspectives, project timeline, deliverables, and the conditions necessary to complete the flight.
The goal isn't simply to put a drone in the air. The goal is to bring it back with something useful.

Built Around Perspective.
Photography has always been about perspective for me. Drones simply changed how much of that perspective became possible.
From a few feet above the ground to a sweeping aerial view, changing elevation can completely change the way we understand a property, project, landscape, event, or environment.
That's what keeps aerial work interesting: sometimes the image you're looking for is there the entire time—you just haven't seen it from the right place yet.

With the plan in place and conditions permitting, we'll conduct the operation and capture the perspectives needed for the project.

The resulting imagery is prepared and delivered based on the agreed project scope.
Aerial First. Ground When It Makes Sense.
I Know A Drone Guy is built around drone operations and aerial imagery.
But some stories can't be told entirely from the air. When a project benefits from additional perspectives, ground-level photography or video can be incorporated to complement the aerial work and create a more complete visual package.
Use the right tool for the image—not the other way around.
